Sara came to the Forest Service in 2009 as part of the National Fire Decision Support Center. Sara’s research focuses on the fundamental physics of wildland fire. Her main research interest is in understanding fuel particle ignition. She has authored a textbook on combustion fundamentals and over 20 peer-reviewed publications and conference papers. In her spare time, Sara enjoys cycling.
